Getting your Android detected by DDMS

Hello again!

Its been ages since I last posted a blog post. I had an issue whereby my Android phone was just not being detected on ddms after an update to a custom rom.

I realised that the best way to solve this is to download the Google Android USB Driver – http://developer.android.com/sdk/win-usb.html OR getting the SDK to download it for you

Once you have done that, go to Device Manager, find your undetected phone there, update the driver and search for the location of the driver – it would be in the android-sdk\extras\google\usb_driver folder.

Bitmap and Bitmap Data.

Bitmap is a display object which wraps the BitmapData within it. The BitmapData is the array of data used to form the pixels in the image. Now a point to note here is that you can’t use use the BitmapData of one state of a movieclip and expect it to gather all the frames.
