Skype & Messenger to merge
|
I received an email today from servicenotification@email.microsoft.com informing me that Microsoft will be retiring the existing Messenger service globally. In that same email, I was informed to move to Skype.
Fortunately, or unfortunately, I already have Skype. The email said :
Already have Skype? |

I searched on Google and did not get much help, so within this post, I will merge the 2 accounts as there is no link from the email.
First of all sign out of Skype if you are already signed in.
1) Select Microsoft account here. Do not sign into skype
1) Sign into your messenger account here.
1) If you have a Skype account here click on “I have a Skype account” to merge otherwise, click “I’m new to Skype”
1) Sign into Skype here to initiate the merge of accounts
1) You should see a confirmation screen, click on Continue.
Bear in mind after the merge, you will have to sign in using your Microsoft account and not your Skype account.
Cheers!
