6 nights in London with my 3 children

Our 6 nights in London went by very quickly. The first day, or rather, evening, was spent at the immigration and getting to our apartment. This took us longer than expected but we were eventually home. The AirBNB host advised us to get some food before getting into our apartment as we would be too …

Planning for a long trip around Europe from Singapore

About 12 months ago, I approached my wife with a really absurd idea. I wanted to do a long trip around Europe. 6 to 9 months actually. The reasons for this, at that time, were actually just to spend time with my family. Of course, at that time, it was just a crazy idea. Especially …

At Gatwick Airport, the immigration and bag collection …

Drama activity at Mustansir’s school

Today they had a show and tell cum drama session at my son, Mustansir’s school. The teacher asked each of the students to pick an activity that each of the kids do daily and act it out when their names were called for attendance. Most of the kids did activities such as brushing their teeth, …

Longkang Fishing in Singapore

My brother’s family is in town and today the we took the kids to do something that we have done ever so often when my brother and I were kids ourselves, longkang fishing.

The concept is pretty simple, in the old days, when the water was not so deep, we would head to the longkang to look at and catch some drain fishes. Often, they would be just boring grey coloured fishes (probably guppies) and sometimes we’d get some black fishes. It would be easiest to catch these fish when the drain was nearly dried up with just some puddles of water around leaving the fishes with nowhere to run 🙂

Anyway, these longkang drains are mostly covered up now for aesthetic and i am not sure what other reasons and so we have to resort to going to a place to simulate the “longkang fishing” experience. The fishes are also alot prettier with some white, red, orange and other colourful guppies around.

I truly recommend going longkang fishing with your kids at Punggol Farmway.

Skype & Messenger to merge

It’s time to update Messenger to Skype! I received an email today from servicenotification@email.microsoft.com informing me that Microsoft will be retiring the existing Messenger service globally. In that same email, I was informed to move to Skype. Fortunately, or unfortunately, I already have Skype. The email said : Already have Skype? Update to the latest version …
